Welcome to TRU GRIT McNab Shepherds and thank you for taking the time to find out about my dogs.  Never heard of the breed? Many Haven’t and because they are not AKC or UKC, breeders are far and few between. Not many people (even Californians, where the breed originated over 100 years ago) are aware of this beautiful, intelligent, and athletic breed.

My primary goal with my McNab Shepherds is to offer the highest quality of working dog, one that is bred for its natural herding and hunting instinct to gather and move livestock, whether cattle, sheep, or goats.

Their abilities do not stop at being a ranch dog as you can find them in many different walks of life, including but not limited to Obedience, Agility, Frisbee, Barn Hunt, Scent Work, Dock Diving, Trail running/ Hiking ( on foot, horseback, or bicycle).

On the more serious side, you’ll find McNab Shepherds in Search and Rescue (SAR), Therapy, and Emotional Support roles.

All my McNab Shepherds are currently registered with the McNab Shepherd Registry, The National Stock Dog Registry, and the McNab Stock Dog Foundation. They are truly an amazing breed of “all around” dog!
